Tooting Amman Temple - Deity chariot fair in Mitcham 28th Aug 2011 Similar to last year,the Brahma Kumaris were offered a space in the exhibition at Figges Marsh Park in Mitcham,South London, organised by the Tooting Amman temple. The fair was highly successful and well attended by about 8000+ with over 1500 visiting Baba's stall. The majority of the attendees were Tamil and a few Gujarati, Hindi & English. As per the temple’s annual tradition, the deity chariot was brought from the Tooting temple to the park where it remained all day with devotees offering prayers continuously. There were stalls of different vendors and media companies. A stage was put up for performances and free food (Prasad) and cold drinks were offered to all. BK teams from Global House, Wembley, Southall and South London centres were present from early morning to setup and organise the exhibition with extra help coming from other centres throughout the day. There were tents with Raja Yoga and Shiv Jyothirlingam pictures, Virtuescope and literature.On the outside stage, Br Tony Wong performed an ‘Om-Harmony’ dance and Sr Ann Fulcher shared Baba's message which were well appreciated. There was a live interview in Tamil with Sr Rekha [GHC, London] by the IBC Tamil radio group.
