"Spirituality Must for Balance Between Material & Moral Development"--Mrs Sheila Dixit Dec. 12: Mrs Sheila Dixit addressing an august gathering of over two thousand youth delegates, leaders and gentry from all over India and twelve other countries at Brahma kumaris' ORC in the Valedictory Session of the 3-day International Youth Retreat today, said that people today's especially youth were at the cross road of conflict and confusion, discontentment and disillusionment in-spite of all material progress and attainments. "They have not been able connect to their inner selves and tap their innate wisdom, qualities, and strength to face and overcome problems and challenges in today's complex and competitive time due to lack of exposure to proper spiritual teaching, training and meditation for exploration and experience of latent inner resources. Brahma Kumaris are providing right kind of spiritual education and motivational impetus to people especially youth to achieve the right kind of balance between the material and moral development in all walks of life", she stressed. Unfurling the a colorful flag to celebrate the 10 th Annual Day of Brahma Kumaris Retreat Centre(ORC), she said that in for successful functioning of any democratic set-up, people's freedom should always be combined with responsibility and inculcation of values like humanity, contentment, respect, cooperation and harmony of self with others, society and nature especially among youth would go a long way in building better life and society. She further said that apart from love and appreciation, today's youth required more discipline, self control, balanced and positive approach for success and accomplishment in their respective field of pursuits and for that moral, spiritual and value education could play a key role. Rajyogini Dadi Ratan Mohini, Joint Chief of Brahma Kumaris and Chairperson of its Youth Wing from Mount Abu blessing the occasion with her words of wisdom said that spirituality could act as the true guide to today's misguided youth and that spiritual empowerment could bring about all other kinds of empowerment for realizing holistic health, harmony, happiness and development self and society. Mr Rakesh Mehta, Chief Secretary, Govt of Delhi speaking as Guest of Honour urged the youth to imbibe India's eternal values such as truth and non-violence which were invincible weapons of success for leaders like Gandhi and others in the past and these values were even more powerful and relevant today for peace, progress and sustainable growth in all areas of human endeavor and relationships.
